Ted Lapidus

Edmond "Ted" Lapidus was a Parisian designer born to Russian immigrant parents in 1929. The son of a tailor, Lapidus completed an apprenticeship with Christian Dior before launching his own brand in 1951, at age 22.

Lapidus joined the Chambre syndicale de la haute couture (the French high fashion designers' trade union) in 1963, after which he more fully came into his own.

Lapidus is also notable for utilizing mass market production techniques, thereby making his fashions more affordable to the average consumer.

Designer Ted Lapidus has 28 perfumes in their fragrance base. The earliest edition was created in 1975 and the newest is from 2015.
